Hany was born in Cairo, Egypt and was immediately involved in playing and coaching soccer from an early age. He has played and coached juniors, youth and senior teams professionally in Egypt at various divisions for more than 29 years; he brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience at the highest levels.
Hany played from U15 in 1991 to 1996 before breaking into the men’s team and playing competitively from 1996 to 2007. During this period, he played in Division 2, Division 1, and Premier League. Hany is most proud of his achievements of joining a team in Division 3, and getting them promoted three years in a row to the Premier League before he retired.
Hany began coaching the same year he retired in 2006; coaching various age groups from U12 professional academy teams to U19 age groups for six years. He then took the assistant coach role for the senior team for two years before moving on to be a head coach in 2017.
Hany is professionally qualified up to his FA UEFA B license, which he acquired in 2017 and his CAF A license, gained in 2016.
Hany is excited to be faced with this new challenge in Canada. His dream is to develop children through the various methodologies that paved his path to and through his professional career. Hany is currently working with youth teams in Surrey, using his vast experience to advance players to the next level.
