ABOUT US

North Surrey Mustangs Football Club was created in 2017. Based in the heart of Guildford, in North Surrey; our soccer club supports a community that prides in inclusion for all soccer participants. Our leadership team was driven by the need of providing quality soccer training to the children within our community, but most importantly, there was a drive to reduce barriers to participation; particularly financial barriers. Pre-conception of the club, our ‘now technical team’ oversaw soccer training in elementary schools at minimum fees; and at no cost for children from low-income families.

The positive and overwhelming response from the community led to a need for a soccer club, thus the start of North Surrey Mustangs Football Club. The organization has continued to be driven by the need to connect the community through this ‘beautiful game’. Understanding that we are in the heart of inner-city Surrey, the need to provide soccer coaching, while catering to under-privileged families remains the core of our mission. We [coaches, volunteers, and members at large] continue to be player-centred in our approach, while instilling a community-building vision in our service.

MISSION STATEMENT

North Surrey Football Club (NSFC) is a grassroots, community-driven sports organization dedicated to providing accessible and high-quality soccer programming for children and youth, with a primary focus on the diverse immigrant and BIPOC families within our community. Our mission is to break down the financial and cultural barriers to organized sports, creating an inclusive space where young athletes can develop physical literacy, build confidence, and advance a lifelong love for the game. We believe that by providing a safe and empowering environment, we help our youth thrive both on and off the field.

MANDATE

Deliver affordable, community-focused soccer programs that promote social inclusion, leadership, and healthy, active lifestyles. Our core objectives include:

  • ​Accessibility: Reducing systemic barriers by keeping registration fees low and offering support to underserved families.
  • ​Youth Development: Using sport as a vehicle for mentorship, resilience-building, and leadership growth for youth.
  • ​Community Connection: Strengthening the local social fabric by building meaningful connections between families, volunteer coaches, and community partners.
  • ​Holistic Well-being: Responding directly to the needs of our diverse neighborhood to improve the mental and physical health, self-esteem, and general development of our participants.
