ABOUT MAP

Mustangs Adaptive Program (MAP) is North Surrey’s first and only adaptive soccer program designed specifically for children and youth aged 6 to 16 with physical, developmental, or learning challenges.

MAP creates a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment where every child, regardless of ability, can enjoy the joy of movement, learn new skills, make friends, and build confidence through sport.

Fall 2025 Session (Outdoors)

  • Start Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2025
  • Location: Hjorth Road Turf 1
  • Time: 4:30 PM – 5:15 PM
  • Age Group: 6 to 14 years
  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Cost: FREE (Fully subsidized for all families)

Winter 2026 Session (Indoors)

  • Start Date: January 2026 (Exact date TBA)
  • Location: Hjorth Road Elementary School Gym
  • Time Slots by Age Group:
    • 6 – 10 years: 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM
    • 11 – 16 years: 6:00 PM – 6:45 PM
  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Cost: FREE

Who Can Join?

MAP is open to children and youth who:

  • Have physical, developmental, or learning challenges
  • May benefit from a slower-paced, supportive, and adaptive soccer environment
  • Live in the Guildford, Whalley, Fleetwood, or surrounding Surrey communities

No prior soccer experience is needed!

What to Expect

Each session focuses on:

  • Movement and body awareness
  • Dribbling, passing, and shooting skills
  • Fun group activities, modified games, and teamwork
  • Positive social interaction and confidence-building

All activities are designed to be flexible, low-pressure, and individualized.

How We Support Families

  • Trained, inclusive coaches certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP)
  • Sensory-friendly equipment and visual aids
  • Peer support from youth volunteers and older siblings
  • Parent engagement and feedback built into every season
  • Translation support in multiple languages to ensure all families feel welcome and informed
